Well I’ve never needed an excuse for G&T but I may just have found one and it’s name is Pink Cow Cardiotonic!
Pink Cow is a new line of products imagined by Chef Flavio Morganti, who created the range with the intention of inventing a range of mixer drinks that were healthy and respectful to the environment. After several years of research Morganti has launched the PinkCow Cardiotonic, a functional and low-calorie tonic with heart-healthy properties that is destined for cocktails and gin and tonics alike
Having read the product description and claim from the company that PinkCow Cardiotonic is’’ First functional tonic in the world.’’ And that ‘’ It contributes to the normal functioning of the heart. Contains only 9Kcal / 100ml.’’ I thought I’d better give it a whirl.
In order to fully sample the flavor of the tonic I tried it both alone and then with a measure of Gordon’s Gin. My first observation was that it contains really fine bubbles and has a really unique, botanical flavour.
It had a nice natural flavour and it is certain that it is ideally suited to mixing with gins and vodka’s although I would say that you wouldn’t to mix it with a delicate gin as it would certainly over power the flavour. It would make a fantastic base for a non-alcoholic cocktail.
I enjoyed this tonic water and it’s nice to sip your gin and tonic and contemplate the health claims that it makes, namely:
Contributes to normal operation of the heart.
It contributes to the normal functioning of energy metabolism.
It contributes to the normal functioning of the nervous system.
Well, as I say I’ve never needed an excuse for a G&T, but I may just have found one.
